Around what age does african-american baby hair typically change from straight to kinky/curly?

It really depends on the child. Some just have naturally smoother hair. Not smooth but smoother. I have a little girl in my class who is five and her hair never changed. I have also worked with children whose hair came out real course. And others who it changed somewhere between 6-12 months.

It just depends on the hair and the family history etc.
