She has some American Indian in her so her hair is not kinky. It is wavy, but EXTREMELY THICK. I have tried at least 60 or more products on her hair. It just won't hold moisture. If I could get it to hold moisture she could wear it down and it would be really pretty. I need something to keep it moist, but not sticky and gross feeling. I really need some ideas. I have taken her to professionals and none of their products or ideas work.

Try a little "home" remedy. You will be amazed of how well it works:

Use a little olive oil, (warm), soak her hair with it, then put it into a wet warm towel and leave it like this for an hour. After that wash her hair well, rince it with a little vinegar (made out of apples) and then rince it with lots of water.

You will be amazed how quick and visible the results are.

You can do this 2-3 times per week.

P.S. Little kids are always getting dirty/getting into things, so i don't think it's a good idea for her to wear her hair down for more than special occasions. most of the time she should wear her hair in plaits, twists, or braids to protect it from the weather, other kids, etc.

if she is old enough you can flat iron her hair or use a chemical free products for little girls hair that you can find in any hair supply store believe me it works great I did this kiddie perm in a little girl hair who had the same problem and it came out wonderful They even have a line of hair product that won't make her hair have that heavy greasy feeling.

shampoo with shampoo for frizzy hair and then use plain yoghurt as conditioner but dont rinse out straight away, leave on for as long as possible (even whole day or night) under wraps and rinse off later, keep on using yoghurt every washtime and you shall see hair softening and more manageable.
