Multi-racial hair?

I am of mixed Caucasian and Australian Aboriginal decent. I look everywhere for good hair care tips, but they're hard to find. I don't think I can really look at African American hair care because Aboriginal black hair is different from African black hair.

My hair is curly and kinky in a few areas, but I also have to wash it everyday or it will get very oily. I LOVE the curls, so straightening it's out of the question.

I just want to know if anyone has any ideas of how to take care of it other than shampoo, conditioner and blowdtrying it. Especially from other black aborigines?

Multi-racial hair?

You will find your hair is very similar to Asian/Middle Eastern hair and if you can go to Asian or Middle Eastern stores you will be able to find products to suit your hair more than the normal products.

You will find oil treatments will be great for your hair just make sure you wash it out realy well afterwards. Try Sunsilk oils etc, almond oil etc will soften your hair and leave it shiny.

Try not to blow dry often but if you need to always put in a protective serum before so you don't end up with frizzyness or split ends. Washing your hair every day will make your scalp oily and your hair dry so you will need to add some serums to the ends or a shine spray to take away the friziness.

Never place the hairdryer on your scalp or near the very top of your head as this will dry your scalp AND make it very oily.

Remember to only ever put a small amount of shampoo to your scalp when your washing and NEVER place the shampoo directly onto the ends or middle of your hairs you will strip the essential oils and leave split ends. You realy need to just put the shampoo on your scalp as this is enough to wash out the rest of the hair when you rinse.

ALWAYS place conditioner ONLY on the ends and middle of the hair and NEVER on the scalp this will change the time in which your hair becomes oily.

Always rinse your hair in cold water. - Try washing your hair entirely with cold water as hot water makes your hair more oily.
