Do can i get wavy or scrunch hair, I'm African American.?

well i have thick hair and quite soft and smooth but frizzes easily when wet and easily becomes tangled. i usually have my hair in a tight bun, straight or curly.

i just want anything other than my usually with little or no heat including water.

My is naturally curly but i have had a perm.

Any help?

I think you make have to wait until the perm grows out. My hair is naturally frizzy and when i have had a perm or coloured it, then it is always much worse. I think that a good cut is always best and use a shampoo that has de-fuzz control. Conditioner works but can make your hair look greasy and limp.

I'm not of african-american descent, but I use mousse/styling foam on (damp) hair and a diffuser attachment on my hairdryer to get that scrunched look. That can help accentuate the wave while not blowing the hair all around and helps me to keep the frizzing to a minimum (my hair is not curly per se, but wavy :) I twist small sections of my hair while drying to make little spirals though please be careful not to keep the dryer on any section too long or one may burn oneself.
